Memory Care

Talk to us about memory care for your Love One!

What is Memory Care?

What you need to know about memory care facilities

What is memory care? The AARP defines memory care as “Specialized support for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia.”  In short, memory care is for those that are struggling with memory issues.  When this happens to our loved ones it can be devastating.  However, there are ways to help support them to hopefully keep what memory they have and even improve it at times.  In the case of a stroke, there are no set answers.  Many stroke patients have amazed modern medicine.  However, there are some that go the complete opposite direction and get worse, fast.  The best thing you can do for your loved one that has a memory issue is to seek memory care assistance.

Not all  facilities will be set up for memory care because Many  patients will require 24/7 care and supervision.  They can become confused and agitated, even if that isn’t their normal demeanor, due to their memory.  Because of this, our caregivers have special training to handle these situations appropriately and with care.  We treat your loved ones as if they are our own. With a dedicated staff to fully care for them and help them with not only their memory care but other needs as well.  We want you to rest assured that your loved one is in good hands.

We take the time to get to know your loved one!

Encouraging interaction among patients.

Senior Living and Memory Care

Our facility encourages interaction between the staff and other residents.  It is important that your loved one makes friends and enjoys others’ company. They will not be locked up in a house, without ever seeing other people but will have a whole community that is tentative to them and their needs. We have appropriate activities that will encourage their improvements.  While we understand that there are times they will be confused and lost, there are other times that they will be themselves and enjoy the community around them.  Understanding their needs while keeping them safe is our job and we take our job very seriously.

We take the time to get to know your loved one.  We feel it is important that they do have friendships with our staff as well as the other residents.  However, some people are more introverted than others and that is okay too.  We encourage people however they live life.  There are many group activities that help everyone get involved within the community.  This encourages our residents to interact and helps the overall morale of the facility.

Routines & Regimens Tailored to the needs of Your Loved One!

Start in a routine.

We also have everyone on a routine that helps with our patients’ memory issues.  We work with our residents to come up with a proper routine that fits them best.  Some like to have a shower in the morning, while others want it before bed, this can be arranged so that everyone is happy.  We work with the families and let them know the progress of their family members should they want updates.

We encourage family members to visit often as their loved ones light up and love to see you!  It is our job to ensure they are healthy, happy, and safe and we take that very seriously. Because of this, we do ask that if you are sick to stay home until you feel better. You are not only risking your family member but this entire frail community.  It is important that we all do our part to keep them healthy and safe.

Finding a memory care facility.

Finding the appropriate memory care facility might take some time.  Remember what is important to you.  Be sure to ask questions and tour the facilities.  Take your time to make your decision, as this isn’t a decision to be made lightly.  We work with many families to help them to understand what is a memory care facility and what to expect from it.  We want you to completely understand the level of care that we offer our residents and how we provide that care. If your in Arizona, check out our Queen Creek Memory Care Facility.

Not all memory care facilities are equal.  We offer specialized training to our staff to appropriately handle combative or confused patients.  It is important to us that all patients are treated with respect and dignity.  We work with specialized training so that they are prepared with different techniques that will encourage the patient to behave in an appropriate manner.  This is the area in which many family members have a hard time dealing with.  Your family member wasn’t always so combative or disrespectful, and they don’t mean to be now either.  Not understanding what is going on around them and getting confused over and over again can make them agitated.  We understand this and can control the situation in a very humane manner.

Our Promise.

We want your loved one to feel special here.  It is important that they are encouraged and live in a positive environment.  This is not just a public facility, this is their home.  Because of this, we want to make it as home-like as possible.
